November 11, 2019 — Diverse & Resilient’s Room to Be Safe Anti-Violence Program is a statewide initiative first designed to address Intimate Partner Violence in the LGBTQ community but quickly expanded to a full anti-violence program serving survivors of intimate partner, sexual, hook-up, and hate violence within the LGBTQ community. The program is designed to advocate for and work with survivors of all violence for individual counseling/advocacy, information and referral, safety planning and support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities in Wisconsin.
Diverse & Resilient’s mission is to achieve health equity and improve the safety and well-being of LGBTQ people and communities in Wisconsin. They see a future in which lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people in Wisconsin thrive, living healthy, satisfying lives in safe, supportive communities. The name Diverse & Resilient serves as reminder that LGBTQ people are everywhere, engage in interesting and meaningful lives, and contribute to the welfare of each other and the broader community.
